Peter Vaughan, an actor in HBO’s Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 93. For the past few years, Vaughan was best known for his role as Maester Aemon of the Night’s Watch on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Other television roles include playing Harry “Grouty” Grout on BBC sitcom Porridge. Though the character only appeared in three episodes of the show, he was a fan favorite event.
Vaughan was born in Shropshire, UK. In addition to a life long career as an actor, he served in the British Army during World War II in Normandy, Belgium, and the Far East.
